On Sunday, the Lafayette Police Department in California reported a successful arrest due to the use of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras. According to the Lafayette Police Department, the authorities were notified of a stolen vehicle on the 3300 block of Mt. Diablo Blvd. This led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles and the arrest of the suspects involved.
The police started to chase the stolen vehicle after the ALPR alerts but had to abandon it for safety concerns. However, the ALPR's tracking contributed significantly to the subsequent arrest of the culprits.
After abandoning the vehicle, the suspects fled, but a local resident reported suspicious activity, leading to their capture.
