A Lafayette Police Department officer made a high-stakes traffic stop this past Tuesday that led to dual arrests.
At approximately 0053 hours, when a car looking very suspicious a week prior was parked in front of a resident’s mailbox, Lafayette police pulled over the car near Highway 24 and found more than they expected. The driver was already on federal probation for mail theft. The woman next to him had meth and lied about her name; it turns out she's wanted for four things. In the backseat, another person had drugs, cocaine, and an unregistered gun per the Lafayette Police Department Facebook post.
Following their apprehension, the suspects were swiftly transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
