The Lewisville community will gather in support of the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center on November 17 for a festive Pet Photos with Santa fundraiser. Participants can take their pets down to the shelter at 995 E. Valley Ridge for a photo shoot with Santa from noon to 2 p.m., making a small donation for a cause and creating memorable holiday cheer in the process.
Pet owners and animal lovers will have the opportunity to endearingly use these photos for holiday greeting cards. The shelter requests a donation of $5, which will be used to fund the shelter's emergency medical fund. Attendees will receive a flash drive with their pet's digital photo and receive pet care advice.
All dogs are required by the shelter to be on a leash, and smaller animals will need to be safely kept in a hard-sided pet taxi. Attendees can stroll around the shelter, learn more about the animals awaiting adoption, and learn about the fee-waiving period running until December 2nd for dogs over 20 pounds and all cats.
This Pet Photos with Santa fundraiser, held with a spirit of giving and compassion, provides an excellent chance for the community to contribute to the welfare of shelter animals.
