A double homicide was uncovered at a local residence in a town in Maine, with the lifeline of care turning into an alleged conduit for murder. According to police reports from Boston 25 News, Denmark's own 53-year-old Tzara Jones, who served as a caretaker, has been charged with two counts of murder following the discovery inside the home she attended.
The victims, still awaiting the tender procedure of next-of-kin notification, succumbed to what has been determined to be homicide following autopsies conducted on Sunday. Authorities remain tight-lipped, with the cause of death not being disclosed at this moment. Maine State Police troopers were dispatched to the Fuller Lane address around 2 p.m. Saturday on what began as a welfare check as reported by WMUR.
The unfolding of the investigation led to Jones being escorted not just away from the scene but to the threshold of a hospital for a medical evaluation before her subsequent arrest.
Denmark, Maine, known for its nestled position just northwest of Sebago Lake and home to a mere 1,197 souls according to the 2020 census, finds itself reluctantly front and center of a narrative that reads contrary to its otherwise peaceful existence. Jones, now awaiting arraignment in Oxford District Court, has been taken to Oxford County Jail, Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, confirmed in a statement obtained by Boston 25 News.
