Last Sunday, in Harker Heights, Texas, a man was found dead and a woman injured. The Harker Heights Police Department responded to dispatch calls about the injured woman around 1:44 p.m. from the area of the 300 block of West Veterans Memorial Boulevard as reported by Fox 7 Austin.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a woman suffering from head and arm injuries. She led them to an abandoned building two blocks away, where an unresponsive man and perpetrator were located. The deceased man was later identified as Dangelo Xavier Valadez, a 37-year-old resident of Harker Heights. An autopsy has been ordered for Valadez as detailed by KCEN-TV.
The injured woman was transported to the hospital and released after treatment. An investigation conducted in the neighborhood led to the arrest of the suspect in the 200 block of Jamie Road. He is presently in custody, awaiting felony charges according to Fox 7 Austin. The identities of the suspect and the injured woman have not been revealed by the authorities.
