
A grisly scene unfolded in San Diego yesterday evening when a northbound Coaster train slammed into a man near Noell and Kurtz streets, tragically ending his life. The horrific incident took place at around 7:55 p.m. near the intersection of Noell Street and Kurtz Street, as reported by the San Diego Sheriff's Department. San Diego's finest—the police and fire departments—were at the location in moments, but despite their rapid response, they found the individual beyond help, his injuries far too severe.
Law enforcement agencies are now picking through the wreckage of this tragedy, trying to piece together the how and why of such an occurrence. After arriving at the darkened intersection and hastily responding to the calamity, the man was evaluated by the San Diego Fire Department and was pronounced with detectives and witnesses scouring for clues, the Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit, responsible for such investigations, has taken the helm of the inquiry at the behest of their San Diego Police comrades.
