A pair of Massachusetts motorists found themselves in cuffs, with a cache of cocaine and heroin in tow. Palmer police pinched two individuals after a routine check of an expired registration revealed a whole lot more than outdated paperwork, according to WWLP. Galen Woodward of Wilbraham and Lisa Laroche of Palmer had their ride come to an abrupt halt during a traffic stop on the Mass Pike.

Officials found 111 grams of cocaine and 46 bags of heroin and fentanyl, as reported by Western Mass News. Woodward is now staring down the barrel of an array of charges, including trafficking more than 100 grams of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute, and conspiracy, not to mention the unregistered vehicle that spelled their downfall.

His alleged partner-in-crime, Laroche, boasts her own list of charges with a similar flavor, plus a couple more sprinkled in for added piquancy. Beyond the trafficking and conspiratorial endeavors, she's facing a license suspension and subsequent offenses for possession of not one but two classes of controlled substances. Earlier this year, Laroche was charged with similar offenses and was out on bail, continuing a cycle that society often sees but fails to mend.

Both Woodward and Laroche are now cooling their heels on $250,000 bail each, awaiting arraignment with gravitas at Palmer District Court on Monday.
