A domestic dispute took a dark turn in Fort Worth, where a mother is now behind bars for allegedly stabbing her own flesh and blood. Jawanda Jarrett, 45, was arrested on a chilling charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police say she went blade to skin with her 23-year-old son per Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The violence erupted early Tuesday in the 2900 block of Livingston Avenue, not far from the bustling academic life of TCU's campus. Fort Worth police responded to reports of bloodshed in what's believed to have been an alcohol-fueled frenzy. Jarrett, the alleged assailant now cooling her heels in the clink, was described by cops as intoxicated during the assault as reported by Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The incident sent the victim, Jarrett's son, to the hospital with injuries thankfully deemed non-life-threatening. Still, details on what exactly ignited this family fray remain shrouded, as detectives keep mum on the motivations behind the stabbing.
