Yesterday, Merrimack, New Hampshire, experienced multiple brush fires along the F.E. Everett Turnpike. State troopers and fire departments responded rapidly in an attempt to prevent damage to surrounding residences as reported by the New Hampshire State Police. A yellow Mack Truck, labeled "Kallwall," was suspected to have caused the fires, with fire periodically bursting from its exhaust pipes.
Quick to respond, the Merrimack Fire Department, aided by the Nashua and Bedford Fire Departments, extinguished the fires before they could spread to nearby woodland or residential areas. As a result of their hard work, travel disruption lasted for a mere 30 minutes, with only the right-hand lane of the turnpike briefly affected.
Residents can find comfort in the prompt and efficient actions of first responders, despite the unexpected danger this incident posed. The fact that the situation was controlled with no reported harm serves as a testament to their preparedness and efficiency, even in unpredictable circumstances.
The identity of the individual responsible for the fires, however, remains unknown. State troopers continue to seek the yellow Mack Truck's owner, calling on the public's assistance with investigations as stated by the New Hampshire State Police.
Anyone with information relating to this incident is encouraged to immediately contact Trooper Perciballi at (603) 271-3636. Their involvement underscores the importance of communal responsibility in maintaining peace and safety.
