The Oakland Police Department's VICE/Child Exploitation Unit, cooperating with the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce (RCAHT), rescued a female juvenile victim of human trafficking. Their coordinated effort also resulted in the arrest of a non-Oakland resident involved in the crime.

The OPD began the rescue mission based on information received from the National Human Trafficking Hotline. The vital clues led officers to the victim's location, enabling her safe return to her family. Notably, the OPD has now led over 500 investigations into human trafficking this year, resulting in over 130 arrests and saving 15 juveniles per Oakland Police Department.

Beyond investigations and arrests, the Oakland Police Department collaborates with local community organizations to provide necessary help and services to the victims of human trafficking.
