The Posey Tube, a major connector between the cities of Alameda and Oakland, is set to close overnight on the 29th for scheduled maintenance as confirmed by an official statement from the City of Alameda. Initially planned yesterday, this has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Running as State Route 61, better known as the Posey Tube, the closure begins at 10 p.m., reopening at 4:30 a.m. on the 30th, with its pedestrian and bike paths also effectively closed. The Webster Tube, an alternate route, however, will remain open, maintaining uninterrupted connectivity between these two cities.

The Posey Tube's internal lighting will be switched off during maintenance. This short but necessary disruption will ensure the infrastructure's optimum functionality for daily commuters. Detours will be organized at the site, with Caltrans staff present, assisting motorists in navigating the closure and providing viable alternate routes.
