Yesterday, downtown Los Angeles experienced a power outage at a 37-story high-rise building, disrupting all 14 elevators and entrapping six individuals as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters timely responded to the emergency at 1260 S Figueroa St. and diligently examined each elevator.
Caught in this predicament, two men initially appeared to need hospitalization for non-critical conditions as per the LAFD report. Nevertheless, both rejected LAFD ambulance transport before hospitalization according to an updated LAFD alert. The firefighters were praised for their successful rescue efforts, with no remaining hazards once power was fully reinstated.
The root cause of the power outage is still under investigation.
