Yesterday, a residential fire broke out in the 100 block of East 11th Street, San Bernardino, causing major damage to a family home and displacing six occupants. Firefighters, upon arrival at the scene, found a single-story house in flames, a fire-engulfed RV, and an apartment complex at risk, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District press release.
San Bernardino Firefighters extinguished the blaze, combing through the home for possible trapped occupants, and shielding nearby properties from the fire flames.
The fire crew was able to protect the apartment complex, preventing the fire from spreading further. Although the residential home sustained heavy damage, the firefighters brought the fire under control with no trapped individuals inside, as reported by SBC Fire. One firefighter suffered minor burns and was treated at a local burn facility, and a civilian experienced smoke inhalation but declined additional treatment.
