The San Diego Humane Society is facing a demanding situation with its dog population reaching a record 178% of capacity. To alleviate this issue, they are waiving adoption fees for dogs and puppies through December 1, per the San Diego Humane Society. This action aims to quickly find homes, not only for the 425 currently adoptable dogs, but also for incoming animals without a place to stay.
On the Humane Society's website, it is mentioned that these significant numbers aren't restricted to the main campus. Additionally, due to an ongoing renovation of the Adoption Building, animals are available at temporary locations, ready for viewing and adoption. The society is urging community members to help alleviate this pressing situation by providing a home to these dogs.
Even if not ready to permanently adopt, anyone can make an impact by becoming a foster. Fostering dogs provides them with a temporary home and creates extra space for new animals, as the Humane Society's website explains.
