On Wednesday, the city's Police Department's Robbery Unit apprehended two individuals involved in Romanian organized crime activities in San José. These crimes include armed carjackings, armed robbery, grand theft, and various scams predominantly targeting the city's elderly Asian and Indian communities according to the San José Police Department (SJPD).
These alleged criminal activities effectively cover burglaries, home invasions, strong-arm robberies, credit card and ATM fraud, scams operating through Facebook Marketplace, and more. Suspects have been reported as speaking English and Romanian, with women often adorned in traditional Romanian attire, the SJPD reports.
Mogos Constantin, 35, and Renaldo Vaduva, 19, recent arrests, are considered a step forward in battling this Romanian organized crime wave. The apprehension process yielded evidence associated with the discussed crimes, along with roughly $13,000 in cash and three impounded vehicles.
The SJPD has made a call to the public to speak up and provide any relevant information regarding these criminal activities.
