On Tuesday, an incident in San Marcos, Texas' Victory Gardens neighborhood, prompted discussions about empathy and responsible pet ownership. 68-year-old Andrew Kennedy was arrested by the San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) after allegedly shooting and killing a neighbor's dog with a pellet gun as reported by KXAN.
Police got a call on Monday from the dog's owner reporting the incident. On the scene, officers retrieved surveillance footage showing Kennedy in the act of shooting the dog.
Upon collecting additional evidence that connected him to the crime, Kennedy was arrested and charged with Cruelty to Nonlivestock Animals, a third-degree felony according to News 4 San Antonio report.
