On Tuesday, Juan Diaz, a 65-year-old flower vendor, was brutally stabbed six times by an unknown assailant in South Los Angeles. The severe incident has resulted in an uncertain recovery period for Diaz, who has been a neighborhood staple for the past 20 years. The flower vendor has previously been a victim of a violent encounter According to KTLA.
A video captured by a passerby shows Diaz defending himself against the attacker, described as a Black or Hispanic male in his mid to late teens. Despite suffering multiple stab wounds, Diaz managed striking the assailant in the face with his own bouquets. The weapon used in the assault is yet to be identified; however, the police suspect it to be a box cutter as reported by KTLA.
