Multi-agency collaboration led to the arrest of 22-year-old Jeffry Rivas Gomez and the recovery of a stolen Porsche on October 25 in Oakland. The successful operation involved the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU), Marin County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division, California Highway Patrol Northern Foreign Export and Recovery (NoFEAR) Team, and the Oakland Police Department Street Team. This action also subsequently uncovered evidence of fraud, according to the Marin County Sheriff.

Across Marin County, the SIU and Sheriff's Office tracked a series of crimes, such as vehicle burglary, credit card fraud, and vehicle theft, which ultimately traced back to Rivas Gomez. Law enforcement spotted him driving the stolen Porsche and eventually found the vehicle at a home in Oakland.

Upon Rivas Gomez's detention by the combined force of the Oakland Police Department Street Team, CHP NoFEAR Team, and SIU Detectives, after successfully executing a warrant at his residence,  other evidence of stolen vehicles and properties was found. Additional charges were brought against Rivas Gomez as he was found to have an outstanding no-bail warrant for carrying a concealed firearm in public from Marin County.

The Marin County Sheriff stated that Gomez was booked into the Marin County Jail on his outstanding warrant and five more felonies related to vehicle theft and credit card fraud.
