On Tuesday, a 15-year-old from Palmview, Texas, initiated a perilous high-speed chase with the Texas Department of Public Safety. The teen allegedly attempted to smuggle migrants into the country. The chase, peaking at speeds of 147mph, concluded with the arrest of the young driver and five migrants' detainment, who were later referred to U.S. Border Patrol as reported by CBS Austin.
Prior to reaching the Falfurrias U.S. Border Patrol Inspection Station, the teen tried escape tactics, such as turning off his vehicle's lights and recklessly swerving. Newsbreak notes that he stopped to allow three to five migrants to abscond into the surrounding foliage.
