A domestic dispute in Somerset took a horrific turn, leaving a teenage shooter dead and his mother fighting for her life. At the epicenter of this Thanksgiving week tragedy stands a house on North Dixon Street, where an argument blossomed into a familial nightmare around 5 p.m. yesterday, as reported by KSAT.
In a chilling exchange of anger and bullets, officials report that a 19-year-old man wielded a gun against the person who once cradled him, his own mother. Shooting her twice, he then directed the weapon at himself. This assault, a grotesque conclusion to what once was mere domestic tension, has shaken the quiet of North Dixon, said the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, with officials still piecing together the shreds of a peaceful past now violently torn asunder, as per KSAT.
According to the grim details obtained by Fox San Antonio, the altercation rapidly de-escalated into gunfire. After the son’s bullet struck her, he turned the gun, with unflinching resolve, back toward himself, sending a bullet through his head.
The teenage son was pronounced dead at University Hospital. Under the glow of clinical lights, his mother lies wounded, her condition a tightly held secret at the lips of fate, but she is expected to survive. Deputies, in the immediacy of violence's aftermath, scurried to interview other occupants of the home who witnessed the shooting, somberly recounting the day’s bloody history, KSAT tells us.
