A 31-year-old Ryan Madelle learned after Worcester police caught him red-handed on Main and Richards St. with a stolen Kia and more illegal goodies than a back-alley bazaar. In a statement released by the Worcester Police Department, officers from the Neighborhood Response Team, who got more than they bargained for during what seemed like a routine patrol, rounded up Madelle and an associate.
Yesterday, around 9:55 a.m., an officer spotted two busy individuals working on the car at 973 Main St. One of them, identified as Ryan Madelle, had a handgun casually tucked away in his pocket, which was promptly confiscated by the officers. Upon the prompt arrival of backup, as one would anticipate from the diligent WPD, the individuals had no opportunity to escape. Instead, they were apprehended, handcuffed, and subjected to the legal process. In addition to the firearm, officers struck gold with bags containing substances believed to be powder cocaine and its more potent variant, crack cocaine.
Madelle is facing a list of charges that include receiving stolen property over $1200, unlawfully carrying a firearm, and a host of other charges. According to the Worcester Police, Madelle was also charged with possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute. He also got a charge for possessing a large-capacity firearm while committing a felony.
