A man's hunt for a mouth-watering pizza featured on TikTok ended in gunfire and an attempted heist in Fort Worth on Tuesday night, authorities said. The unidentified male victim was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital after taking a bullet to the arm during what he described as a botched robbery, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The incident reportedly unfolded after the victim pulled over near Glen Garden Drive to search for the pizza restaurant he had eyed on the social media platform. As he sought to resolve the address, an armed suspect appeared seemingly out of nowhere and declared a stickup. "The man announced a robbery and fired one shot, hitting the victim in the arm," the victim recounted to the Fort Worth Police. There was no slice of safety to be found as danger engulfed the victim in a place where he least expected it, as reported by FOX 4 News.
Fort Worth PD arrived at the hospital around 8:30 p.m. where they were met with the wounded man's account. According to police, after the suspect pulled the trigger, the victim managed to escape and sought refuge at a friend’s house on Glen Garden Drive, where someone then helped him to the hospital for his non-life-threatening injury. Details of the confrontation are still sparse, as police have not nabbed any suspects while the shooter remains at large, casting a shadow over the community's sense of security.
