Upon arrival, the first responders promptly summoned the aid of STAR Flight, a local helicopter service, to hasten the severely injured man to the hospital. As reported by KXAN, this plan was, however, challenged as the man abruptly suffered a cardiac arrest.
The unfortunate cardiac event forced the paramedics to quickly cancel the helicopter transfer. As an alternative, they proceeded to an adjacent hospital via ambulance, where the patient received on-road CPR according to the KXAN article.
Regrettable, despite swift and deft responses from the first responders, the victim's sustained injuries concluded in an untimely death. This was confirmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety, which is currently leading an investigation into this incident as mentioned by CBS Austin.
