The roads just got a bit safer this Thanksgiving, as Massachusetts State Police Troop A teamed up with regional enforcers to crack down on impaired driving, starting on Thanksgiving Eve. In a show of interagency solidarity against the festivities' darker side, the MSP's own Major James Bazzinotti and Captain Kathryn Downey stood shoulder to shoulder with counterparts from New Hampshire to Maine as reported by MSPNews.org.
The Bay State's bravest are suiting up for their evening shift Wednesday to keep the revelry from turning ugly. Additional patrols are set to flood the streets to curb any spirited driving. The New Hampshire Department of Safety and the Office of Highway Safety, along with local police, showed up in force at the Seabrook rest area off I-95 to drive home the point.
It's not just Troop A on the prowl; every Massachusetts geographic field troop is poised to bump up the patrol count, a network casting a wide net for those driving cheeky after a few too many according to MSPNews.org.
