Two men are now in custody related to the fatal South East Austin shooting that occurred in September, as reported by CBS Austin. The U.S. Marshals and Lone Star Fugitive Task Force apprehended 24-year-old Dekatur Dalon Richey, also known as “DK,” on November 15, and 22-year-old Moses Wangobe Mohinga, also known as “Big Youngster” on October 27.
The shooting transpired on September 26, close to the intersection of East Oltorf Street and Greenfield Parkway. Austin police officers found the victim, 40-year-old Keith Bedford, dead at the scene, with visible gunshot wounds. The subsequent investigation resulted in identifying Richey and Mohinga as suspects, and KVUE reports that arrest warrants were issued in October.
Mohinga was detained at an apartment complex on Ridgepoint Drive, where authorities located narcotics and firearms. Richey, on the other side, was apprehended after a standoff that lasted almost three hours at Twelve100 Apartments, located at 12100 Metric Boulevard, where the Texas Department of Public Safety SWAT team's intervention was required.
Both Richey and Mohinga are held at the Travis County jail, with bail set at $1 million for Richey and $750,000 for Mohinga.
