
In Victorville, California, a stolen car pursuit ended with the car crashing into a house. The suspect, Robert Resendez Soliz, 27, was taken into custody after leading deputies on a high-speed chase on Tuesday. The incident concluded when Soliz crashed into a home in Victorville around 9:05 p.m., and no residents were injured according to the SBSD - Victorville Police Department.
Now Soliz is being charged with possession of stolen property, failure to yield (a felony), and driving under the influence, as per the SBSD - Victorville Police Department reports. The deputy noticed a black Honda on Nisqually Road speeding and changing lanes illegally. The deputy initiated a traffic stop after discovering the vehicle to have been stolen previously in Victorville, but Soliz did not comply and, instead, initiated a high-speed chase that included running stop signs.
The pursuit culminated in Soliz losing control at the intersection of 2nd Street and Dean Avenue and crashing into a residential property. He attempted to escape on foot, but was quickly detained.
During his arrest, Soliz exhibited signs of intoxication.
Soliz, who is also on county probation, got injured during the crash. He was subsequently hospitalized before the charges were formally laid.
