
A 3-year-old boy's drowning in Warwick, Rhode Island, on August 28, has now resulted in the arrests of David Holloway and Kaitlyn Nolan, the child's parents. According to The Boston Globe, they are being charged with several counts of child cruelty and neglect.
Holloway, 32, and Nolan, 31, have been charged with child neglect, as per reports by MassLive. Nolan received five counts of the charge, while Holloway has been charged with two counts of child endangerment, five counts of child cruelty and neglect, and additional charges related to animal cruelty. The incident had occurred at their residence on Gorham Avenue.
On the day of the incident, Warwick Police Department arrived at the scene due to a report of a potential child drowning. The child, identified as David Carl "DJ" Holloway III was transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, but was pronounced dead at around 12:45 PM. An obituary by Quinn Funeral Home detailed DJ's love for playing with his toy dinosaurs, and his enjoyment of watching football games with his father The Boston Globe reported.
Holloway's bail was set at $50,000 personal recognizance, alongside special conditions recommended by Rhode Island's Department of Children, Youth, and Families. Nolan met a bail commissioner and was subsequently released on $5,000.
