Yesterday, snow showers and icy temperatures swept across southern New England, ushering in the year's first significant signs of winter. Worcester Airport recorded 0.2 inches of snowfall, confirming the season's initial, measurable snow event as reported by the NBC Boston.
Several communities in central Massachusetts according to WHDH reports, saw snow accumulation ranging from 0.25 to 0.75 inches, hinting at the arrival of winter. The icy conditions of sidewalks, driveways, and patios serve as a reminder of the upcoming harsh season and the need for attention.
Tuesday, however, provided a short break from the chill as temperatures climbed, with forecasts predicting highs in the low 50s. This warmer trend is anticipated to persist throughout the week, possibly reaching the lower 60s by Friday—an ideal scenario as the holiday season is fast approaching.
A potential rain event, however, brews beneath these calm autumn days as per a report by NBC Boston. Tentatively expected between Friday night and Saturday morning, the event, if it occurs, could potentially represent the most significant rainfall since September 19.
WHDH forecast predicts a dry Sunday, albeit with a subsequent temperature drop. Although it's early to make accurate forecasts for Thanksgiving day, initial signals suggest cold and dry weather that may intensify towards the holiday weekend.
