Youth's Daring Escape, Swift Recapture at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall Raises Security, and Support System Concerns in Los Angeles

Yesterday, a male youth managed to temporarily escape from Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, after an incident entailing staff assault. The Los Angeles County Probation Department reported via Twitter the escape and subsequent capture within ten minutes.

As a result of the escape, the center temporarily suspended visiting hours, raising concerns about the impact this might have on the mental and emotional health of the youth.
