
The FBI is on the hunt for a suspect involved in a high-stakes robbery of an armored truck in El Segundo, California earlier this year, with authorities taking to social media to appeal for public assistance in identifying the man responsible for the daylight heist.
On February 21, 2023, a man, approximately 40 years old with a thin build and dark complexion, is said to have held up an armored truck driver at gunpoint. The crime took place outside a bank at 835 N Pacific Coast Highway, after which he was seen escaping in a maroon-colored sedan. According to the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office, the event was at a location bustling with unknowing passersby, under the glare of the California sun.
The suspect's description includes a height of 5'11", a weight of around 180 pounds, and noteworthy moles or skin tags behind his right ear, detailed on the FBI's official wanted page. A reward of up to $15,000 has been offered for information leading to his arrest and conviction, reflecting the gravity with which federal law enforcement is pursuing this case.
During the robbery, the unknown suspect was clad in an orange reflective vest, blue cloth mask, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. The FBI continues its calls for anyone with information to step forward in a WantedWednesday post.
