Deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff's Station were called to the 44600 block of Sierra Highway around 7:29 PM after a male juvenile was reported shot, an incident said to have stemmed from a road rage episode spiraled deadly. The boy, who was merely 4 years old, was shot in the upper torso while seated in the backseat of his parents' car, as stated by the Sheriff's Information Bureau. Despite the desperate efforts of his parents to rush their son to a local hospital, the child was pronounced dead.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investors quickly traced and arrested a 29-year-old Black male and a 27-year-old White female in connection with the murder. The authorities have confirmed that the suspects, believed to have pursued the family after an initial altercation on the road, began to harass them through several streets before the fatal shot was fired.
While the investigation carries on, details remain sparse, but the sheriff's department has emphasized that there are no outstanding suspects. No other victims were harmed during the occurrence. The identities of the suspects have not been released, and a motive is still under exploration.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has been tasked to confirm the identity and cause of death of the young victim.
