In the dead of night, an alert resident's tip led to the arrest of three individuals suspected of car part theft in the local community. The incident, which unfolded at around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, was set into motion when the resident noticed an unsettling noise and discovered their vehicle lifted on a jack, according to a Facebook post by the local police department.
Upon realizing the potential theft in progress, the homeowner reported the suspicious activity to the authorities, furnishing them with a description of the suspect's getaway car which allowed the officers to track it down and ultimately apprehend the three suspects found with the stolen tire and burglary tools. They also discovered an additional two tires inside the vehicle, believed to be pinched from other unsuspecting victims.
The three culprits were slapped with charges ranging from grand theft to conspiracy, as the local authorities took them into custody. "We thank the observant resident for taking action and calling us immediately; your watchful eyes and speedy actions make a difference in keeping our community safe!" expressed the police department in their online statement.
