
A quiet Antioch street was shattered by gunfire on Saturday afternoon, leaving a 29-year-old man dead in the wake of a shooting near the railroad tracks. According to a press release by the Antioch Police Department, the incident occurred in the 700 block of W. 1st Street around 4:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Responding officers found the victim critically wounded by a bullet, and despite their efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Brentwood police later located the suspect vehicle in the 1200 block of Dainty Avenue, leading to the capture of a 40-year-old man from Concord who was believed to be the shooter.
