In a horrific twist of metal and fate on a southeast Austin road, four lives were snuffed out in one tragic instant. The chaotic scene on State Highway 130 turned deadly Sunday afternoon when a multi-vehicle crash claimed four lives and left another fighting for their lives, reported by KVUE.

The collision occurred in the 10500 block of the South State Highway 130 service road northbound, near Maha Loop Road—infamously known for another fatal accident just a month prior. The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash took place around 4:15 p.m. when a passenger car and dump truck collided, the result of a disastrous failure to yield at an intersection. In the words of Sgt. Deon Cockrell, "One had a stop sign and one did not. As a result, the crash occurred at the intersection," according to FOX 7 Austin.

The sole survivor of this calamity was whisked away by a STAR Flight helicopter and delivered to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center with injuries severe enough to brush with death's door,  as detailed by KVUE.
