A 69-year-old woman, who had been reported as an at-risk missing person in Long Beach, was found safe after she returned to her residence by herself, authorities confirmed. Carmen A. Estrada, a senior with cognitive issues that may cause disorientation, had last been seen on December 18, 2023, in the area of Fashion Avenue. Following a public appeal for assistance, police announced that Estrada managed to find her way back home on December 18th, unharmed.
Originally, the Long Beach Police Department had issued an alert for the missing Estrada, detailing her vulnerable condition and asking the community for any relevant information. Being without a car, cell phone, tracking device, and an unknown amount of cash, concerns were heightened for Estrada's well-being. According to the information posted on the Long Beach Police Department's website, Estrada fits the description of a Hispanic female, 5'2" in height and weighing 140 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a black dress and black shoes.
Estrada's safe return brings relief to the community and her family, who had been fraught with anxiety over her sudden disappearance.
The Long Beach Police Department did not release the details surrounding Estrada's brief disappearance or how she made her way back home.
