Austin FC and their partner Q2 Holdings, Inc. are spreading some holiday cheer to local nonprofits this season, doling out $150K in grants. In an act of commitment to community enrichment, the soccer club and the financial software company named CareBOX Program, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), and Seedling Foundation as this year's beneficiaries of the Q-mmunity Gives program, as reported by KXAN.
Continuing its tradition for the third straight year, Q-mmunity Gives zeroes in on local organizations that propel the growth of underrepresented groups in the area. The trio of nonprofits, each pocketing $50,000, are set to bolster programs ranging from healthcare access for musicians to mentorship for children with incarcerated parents. According to Austin FC, the club's President Andy Loughnane said in a statement obtained by KXAN, "We are extremely proud to work alongside our partners at Q2 for a third consecutive year in an effort to help enrich the community by supporting local organizations that remain committed to providing equal opportunities for all Texans."
The CareBOX Program provides essentials to cancer patients; HAAM ensures affordable healthcare for Austin's working musicians; and the Seedling Foundation mentors children dealing with the challenges of parental incarceration. Each organization carries a torch for those who navigate paths laden with shadows, casting a light on the stumbling blocks of health, music, and the innocence of youth.
In an expression of joint commitment towards societal impact, Q2's CEO Matt Flake, shared excitement about the initiative. "Our mission is centered on building strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions," he told Austin FC's official website. "And we look forward to supporting three local nonprofits to expand their community service and impact." The grants, aimed at projects spanning education, job skills and readiness, and health and wellness, set a December contemplation for what is possible when sport and commerce unite for the common good.
Interested nonprofits in Central Texas have been invited to apply for the grants, with the window running from September 26 through October 16. Eligibility criteria encompass a spectrum requiring both tax-exempt status and a footing in good standing with the IRS and state authorities. As put by Loughnane in Austin FC's news release, "During its first two years, the Q-mmunity Gives grant program has shown its ability to make a direct impact in our community, and as such, it has become a staple in our calendar." With this gauge of success, Austin FC and Q2 Holdings remain steadfast in their pursuit of community elevation, one grant at a time.
