The quest for a suspect in a brazen daylight robbery is intensifying as Austin Police reach out to the public for leads. The crime took place at the Pineapple XPress Smoke Shop on Guadalupe Street on December 11, with the perp making off with a wad of cash at knife-point.
The Austin Police Department (APD) urges anyone with information to come forward. The suspect was described as a white male thought to be between the ages of 20-30, standing 5' 10" tall, and weighing somewhere in the 170 to 200-pound range. Witnesses also noted his blond hair and full beard, adorned with distinctive gauge piercings, sans gauges, in each ear. The robbery unfolded around 3 p.m. when the suspect allegedly forcefully barged in, pushed a victim aside and then went on to menacingly threaten her and another individual with a knife before hastily departing southbound.
CCTV footage captured the suspect garbed in a turquoise ball cap, black surgical-style face mask, and a green hooded zippered jacket over a light shirt, matched with dark pants and light-colored shoes featuring white laces. APD's request was echoed in a statement released to the press, detailing the suspect's appearance and the circumstances of the robbery.
