The Austin Police Department is on the hunt for three suspects connected to a string of daring daylight robberies and is seeking the public’s help to track the culprits down. The individuals are accused of using firearms to menace local businesses and making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to the Austin Police Department, two of the suspects remain shrouded in mystery with limited descriptions due to the calculated guise of dark clothing and ski masks, thwarting efforts to gauge their age or racial background. However, the police have been able to provide a more detailed description of Suspect #1, potentially the ringleader, reported to be either a Hispanic or black male, aged between 20 to 30, and standing somewhere between 5’6” and 6'0" tall.
Authorities released surveillance photos showing Suspect #1 clad in a dark hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and tan/white shoes while the other accomplices donned similar dark attire with respective black and white footwear, Suspect #2 was last seen specifically in a dark Reebok hooded sweatshirt and Suspect #3 in an all-black ensemble.
In the mix is a person of interest, a black male of unconfirmed age and height, who might hold keys to at least one of the incidents, sporting a dark t-shirt and white shoes when last sighted; detectives believe catching this individual could be crucial in shedding light on the events.
Those with any information on these cases are urged to step forward and can do so by contacting the APD's robbery unit directly, or if anonymity is preferred, they can relay their tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program, which is floating a reward of up to $1,000 for details leading to an arrest, and, with community cooperation, the hope is that these perpetrators will soon face justice.
More details and photos of the suspects can be found in the official police release via this link, and those with any information that could assist in these ongoing investigations are encouraged to come forward.
