A calculated sting by Bedford law enforcement has led to the arrest of a theft suspect following a series of quick-service restaurant heists. Officials confirmed that a vigilant public service officer's memory and sharp eye were crucial in nabbing the alleged thief.
The crime spree came to a halt after the Bedford Police Department reported a suspect reaching over a KFC counter on November 13 to snatch cash from the register. A bulletin disseminated by their crime analyst linked the suspect to similar crimes in neighboring Hurst and an aggravated robbery in Euless, according to the Bedford Texas Police Department.
It was the astute recognition by PSO Brannon, who recalled seeing the suspect vehicle, that ultimately led to the arrest. On December 4, her tenacity paid off when she spotted the vehicle once again and tailed it until officers could intervene.
With the suspect's vehicle in sight, law enforcement closed in. "The driver was positively identified as the suspect in our case and taken into custody," the Bedford Police announced, marking an end to the string of thefts. The identity of the suspect, who was entangled in similar incidents across various jurisdictions, has not been released, as per the Bedford Texas Police Department.
