Christmas Eve in Dorchester was marred by violence as a man was shot on Ripley Road. The victim, whose identity has yet to be released was struck by gunfire, prompting a police response shortly before the 10 p.m. mark, according to Boston 25 News.
Boston Police found the adult male victim with a gunshot wound. Sources at NBC Boston reported that the ShotSpotter detection system played a crucial role in alerting authorities and that the man was transported to the hospital, his wounds fortunately not life-threatening.
