In a targeted crackdown on drug trafficking in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, police have made a significant arrest. Officers from the Drug Control Units of District C-6 (South Boston) and C-11 (Dorchester) nabbed Alvin McCray, 43, on drug-related charges following a surveillance operation and execution of search warrants at 1591 Dorchester Avenue, as per an official report from the Boston Police Department.
The sting operation, conducted around midday on Thursday, led the authorities to swiftly descend upon the Dorchester dwelling. Their efforts culminated in the apprehension of McCray and the seizure of an estimated 25 grams of crack cocaine. In addition, officers discovered and confiscated about $1,904 in U.S. currency, which is believed to quickly be linked to the illegal narcotics trade.
According to a statement released by the Boston Police Department, McCray now faces serious allegations, including trafficking of class B substances, and possession with intent to distribute class B drugs. These charges place McCray at the center of a legal storm that could result in substantial penalties, given the weight of the narcotics involved.
