Chaos ensued in Boston's Back Bay last night as police nabbed two suspects following a reported armed robbery and gun seizure at a swanky hotel, authorities said. According to the Boston Police Department, officers arrested Robert Santana, 28, of Lawrence, and Danine Simpson, 27, of the Bronx, New York, after a knife-point hold-up and a cash-stuffed fanny pack gun surprise.
The drama unfolded at around 7:22 PM on the distinguished grounds of 40 Dalton Street where the police were summoned over a knife altercation – a victim had sought companionship, only to be met with threats and theft. Upon arrival, officers, they mastered the maze-like corridors of the hotel, reaching the alleged den of deceit where they greeted by a fledgling escape attempt, Santana's futile dash was quickly snuffed, his freedom revoked, his fanny pack revealed a Glock 43X, and he is packed with eight loaded rounds.
In the same breath as the man's arrest, the halls betrayed Simpson, her alleged partner in crime, and soon she, too, was bound by cuffs. The Boston Police Department's report indicates that a sizeable haul of cash amounting to $12,363 was also discovered in Santana's possession during the fracas.
Santana now faces multiple charges including the unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and a large capacity feeding device; meanwhile, Simpson's fate is sealed with a charge of armed robbery, both are set for a date with the judge at Boston Municipal Court. In an odd turn of legal ballet, a 28-year-old man entangled in the night's affair, will receive a summons for sexual conduct for a fee, his innocence or guilt to be penned by the court's gavel.
