
A gas leak in Buda, Texas, prompted emergency road closures yesterday afternoon, but city officials announced the streets were back open later in the day. The leak caused a portion of Old San Antonio Road to shut down, affecting traffic between the Walmart entrance and Cabelas Drive.

Following the leak on Wednesday, the City of Buda took to social media to alert locals of the situation, recommending drivers seek alternative routes until further notice. The area was cordoned off temporarily as crews from Centerpoint and Public Works descended on the site to start repair works, according to the City of Buda, TX official account.
"City leaders confirmed on social media Wednesday a portion of Old San Antonio Road was closed due to a gas leak in the vicinity." The presence of Centerpoint and Public Works crews affirmed the city's commitment to address such utility emergencies with proper haste and care for public safety, as reported by KXAN.
