New brass in town as Coon Rapids beefs up police leadership. The city held a ceremony Tuesday where Mayor Jerry Koch swore in Deputy Police Chief Adam Jacobson and Sergeant Dan Durette. The City Council also greenlit several initiatives in its latest meeting, including recycling and non-resident use agreements with Anoka County for the upcoming year, according to Coon Rapids Minnesota.
The Council wasn’t all about the boys in blue, though, as they adopted resolutions to pad the department’s resources with a donation and to accept business sponsorships and donations for the 2023 festivities. They’re looking to the future of the city's infrastructure, too, by signing off on Joint Powers Agreements with Anoka County, and the City of Fridley for intersection improvements at 85th Ave. and Evergreen Blvd, as stated in Coon Rapids Minnesota.
Returns on the agenda, the ranks have spoken, and the city has answered with an approved labor agreement with Law Enforcement Labor Services Local 207 for 2024 and 2025, as per Coon Rapids Minnesota.
