The City of Dallas Development Services Department (DSD) is primed to shift its digs from 320 E. Jefferson Boulevard to a new location at 7800 North Stemmons Freeway. Operating out of Oak Cliff since '86, the DSD's decision to move, authorized by the City Council this past July, has set in motion a plan to bolster customer service and work conditions, according to the City of Dallas.
Designed to function as a "ONE-STOP" permitting shop, the new office is expected to streamline the development process for customers and stakeholders. After moving to the new facility, which relishes the convenience and efficiency it is set to provide, the DSD will undertake its relocation in two main phases, starting the week of December 18. Customers are urged to engage with the appropriate division to make appointments during this period to maintain a steady service flow.
Andrew Espinoza, Director of DSD, outlined the timeline for the big move—a process kicking off on December 18, 2023, and wrapping up by early February of the following year. The first wave of relocators includes the Q-Team, Fire Protection, Electrical and Plumbing Plan Review, Zoning Inspections, and the Northwest District Office. The remaining divisions are set to follow suit from mid-January to early February. For further details, Espinoza can be contacted directly, and for those sniffing around for a scoop, Communications & Outreach Manager Robyn Gerard is the go-to.
