Dallas Police are on the hunt for suspects after an officer was struck and injured by a vehicle during a traffic stop yesterday morning. The incident occurred on the 4200 block of N. Jim Miller Road around 8:40 a.m., when the driver of a black Dodge Challenger reportedly accelerated away from the scene, hitting the motorcycle officer in the process, according to the Dallas Police Department.
The officer involved sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where they were treated and subsequently released. The assailant’s vehicle, however, continued northbound on N. Jim Miller Road, evading capture. The suspect's Dodge Challenger can be identified by its faded, matte hood paint, blacked-out taillights, a distinctive baseball cap on the front dashboard, and custom, notably loud tailpipes.
In a troubling turn, investigators found that the license plate on the vehicle was not registered to the said car, further complicating the search. The Dallas Police are now turning to the community, urging anyone with information on the suspect or the vehicle to come forward. The situation has sparked an aggravated assault investigation, currently cataloged under case number 220346-2023.
