An employee of the Dallas Police Department, identified as Senior Police Report Representative Larry Solomon, found himself on the wrong side of the law, facing charges of family violence. Solomon, who served the department since April of 2016, was arrested on December 29, 2023, by fellow officers while he was off-duty. The incident has put a spotlight on domestic issues that can plague even those within the ranks of law enforcement, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officer Solomon, who worked in the Research and Development Division, was currently off-duty at the time of the arrest.
The department has placed Solomon on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in such cases, the statement said. In the meantime, the investigation by the Internal Affairs division will continue to unfold as they seek to uncover the truth behind the allegations, as per the Dallas Police Department.
