East Harris County Family Dispute Ends in Crossbow Shooting, the Suspect is Charged with Aggravated Assault

A family dispute in East Harris County turned violent when one step-brother allegedly shot the other with a crossbow, authorities said. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the altercation that erupted at the 20700 block of Live Oak, in which Tim Lee Ehrlich, 45, is accused of injuring 52-year-old Brandon Lane Little. According to the Sheriff's tweet, the victim has been airlifted to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The argument, seemingly initiated over a car battery, escalated rapidly, culminating in a life-threatening injury. Ehrlich was apprehended at the scene, while his step-brother, Little, who sustained serious injuries, was promptly transported for immediate medical attention. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of the Harris County Sheriff's Office mentioned in a post on X, "The wounded man is being transported by Lifeflight in critical condition."

Investigators are actively pursuing leads to piece together the events of the confrontation. Meanwhile, an update on Little’s condition was shared by the Sheriff's Office, indicating that, following lifesaving efforts, the victim remains hospitalized but has been stabilized to serious condition.

Charged with aggravated assault, Ehrlich's alleged violent action towards a member of his family has led to his arrest. Details surrounding the motivations for the dispute have yet to be fully disclosed. "Tim Lee Ehrlich (2-11-78) has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, accused of shooting his stepbrother with the crossbow," Sheriff Gonzalez reported in an updated post on X. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate, and this domestic incident serves as a grim reminder of how quickly familial tensions can turn deadly.
