A senior citizen and his loyal canine companion narrowly escaped injury when a road rage shooter unloaded their anger into the bed of a pickup truck in Alameda County yesterday. The 70-year-old driver was going about his business with his 14-year-old dog along for the ride when suddenly, a sedan attempted to aggressively pass near Foothill Boulevard and Castro Valley Boulevard, said the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
The incident, which occurred around 12:40 p.m., turned violent after the suspect vehicle, described as a white or light-colored sedan, attempted to overtly pass and then proceeded to fire two shots into the pickup's bed. To find refuge, the shaken victim was forced to quickly drive to the safety of a nearby California Highway Patrol station on Redwood Road. Reports confirm that the driver, although startled, managed to escape physically unscathed.
