Earlier today, it turned into a chaotic scene at a San Antonio apartment complex when five individuals, including four juveniles and an adult, were nabbed by police after a botched burglary attempt. The episode unfolded near the 600 block of South St. Mary's Street, around 3:25 a.m., following a security guard's alert about a suspicious vehicle entering the Agave Apartments lot, as reported by FOX San Antonio.
The San Antonio Police Department responded promptly to swiftly close off the gate through which the unauthorized vehicle had entered. Investigators strategically placed their cruisers to block any potential escape routes. As law enforcement began to comb through the premises, they found their suspects, who rapidly tried to flee, carelessly ramming into two police cruisers and a security patrol vehicle. This reckless attempt to evade capture turned into a significant mistake, leading to a frenetic ten-minute foot chase, as per KENS 5.
All five suspects, with the juveniles being under 17 and one being 17 years old, were eventually captured by the authorities. It was later discovered that the vehicle they had used to smash their way out was stolen, adding a further wrinkle to the case. Police are now processing charges against the group, which include evading on foot, attempted burglary of a vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and theft of a firearm.
